It is concerning to see the rhetoric coming from the White House and Republicans in Congress. Republicans are quick to side with Mr. Trump, one can assume, to prevent political suicide of their careers. As of today, Day 19 of the administration, not a single member of the Republican party has gone on record to denounce the exalted ruler’s actions and behaviors. Instead, they stand idly by watching our nation continue down a path of, seemingly, political implosion.
Mr. Trump made it very, very clear in the months leading up the the election what his objectives were. Yet, even in the eyes of the MAGA movement, he was going to lead the United States to greatness. He played them all like fools over promises of lower grocery prices including, of all things, eggs; areas for which he has absolutely NO control. And the significant blows and disgrace continue to strike at the heart of our democracy.
Today, it was revealed that Kash Patel, Mr. Trump’s nominee for Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) was paid $25,000 to participate and, even more damning, act as an executive producer for a series about how the FBI has wronged Mr. Trump and so many people around him. In fact, he stated in the series that he would shut down the FBI and turn its headquarters into a museum; a promise he has recently reverberated.
There is little doubt in my mind that Mr. Trump’s moves in the past three weeks, along with his henchman, Elon Musk, have saved taxpayer dollars at the expense of American safety at home and abroad. With the dismantling of USAID, the hiring of a former Fox News host who has a history of public drunkenness and sexual harassment to lead the Armed Forces, and, now, the prospect of hiring a man who accepted $25,000 from a Russian-backed propaganda producer, Americans, including the entirety of MAGA, should be very, very alarmed. Mr. Trump has set us on a course to danger and we are on the verge of handing over the keys to the world economy to China. It’s just a matter of time, mark my words.
